The dyed raw cashmere is radio frequency dried to a precise moisture content and air-mixed with other colours to achieve the desired shade. It is then carded - teased to the finest gossamer web on giant rollers - until it reaches a perfect, uniform evenness. The finished web is divided, twisted and wound on the bobbins ready for spinning. Spinning - stretching and twisting the yarn to smooth and strengthen it - is mule spun - still the best method for producing the 'lofty' quality desirable in the fines knitting yarn.
Todd & Duncan produce and sell the best cashmere yarns to specialist knitwear manufacturers and leading designers worldwide. |
